Palak paneer

Palak paneer is a famous paneer variety in North India everybody is fond of.This is my version of recipe for this curry.

Ingredients:

  1. Palak - 1bunch
  2. Paneer - 1cup
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
  4. Green chillies (chopped) - 2nos
  5. Onions - 1(large)
  6. Tomato(chopped)- 1
  7. Turmeric - 1/2tsp
  8. Redchillipowder - 1/2tsp
  9. Coriander pwd - 1tsp
  10. Cumin pwd - 1tsp
  11. Whole garam Masala( optional)
  12. Cumin seeds - 1tsp
  13. Salt as required

Method:

  • Cook spinach to boiling water just for 2 min , blend into a fine paste in a blender( spinach puree) 
  • Heat oil in pan, add whole garam masala, cumin seeds,onions ,salt and saute till the onions are translusent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder, tomatoes and fry till the tomatoes are fully soft and cooked.
  • Now add coriander powder,cumin powder,chilli powder,chopped green chillies ,spinach puree mix well ,cook till the oil  oozes out on the surface.
  • To this add fresh paneer pieces and cook for another 5 min and remove from stove.
  • Garnish with cream.
  • Goes well with any type of Indian bread.

Note:

  • Some like to use fried paneer pieces,its up to you either fried or as it is.
  • You can use garam masala powder instead of whole garam masala.

Chole paneer

One of the easiest and fast cooking curry for chapathis or rotis.

Ingredients:

  1. Kabuli chana(boiled) - 1cup
  2. Tomato puree - 1cup
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
  4. Onions chopped - 1cup
  5. Green chillies - 4
  6. Paneer - 1cup
  7. Ghee - 2tsp
  8. MTR Garam Masala powder - 1tsp
  9. Chilli powder - 1tsp
  10. Salt to taste

Method:

  • Soak chana dal overnight and boil them in a pressure cooker till 3 whistles.
  • Boil tomatoes in water ,peel the skin off ,cool and make a paste - Tomato puree
  • Heat  2 tsp of ghee/oil  in pan ,add onions,fry till onions are golden brown ,add greenchillies,ginger garlic paste,Tomato puree and cook till the ghee comes up.
  • Now add the the boiled chana ,salt and mix well, cook for another 5 min.
  • To this add chillipowder and cook for another 2min.Add paneer cubes , garam masala ,mix well and add chopped coriander leaves and remove from stove .
  • Goes well with chapathis.
